The methodology behind our design was based on creating innovated parts of the speaker encasement to make for easier assembly and disassembly, more convenient consumer use, eco-friendly materials, and a higher-performing product. We achieved our objectives mainly by lowering the amount of parts from 10 to 7, reducing the cost to manufacture by about 60 cents. We also created a more robust encasement to prevent breakage if the speaker was dropped. Finally, we decided to design our product out of recyclable materials to ensure that we are not damaging the environment.
